All is set for the conduct of the three-day Regional Vaccination Days in this southern port city.
Initiated by the Department of Health (DOH) regional office, the forthcoming mass vaccination activity dubbed as “Zambayanihan Bakunahan Ligtas, Lakas, Buong Zampen” will be held from January 26 to 28.
Dr. Cathy Garcia, assistant city health officer, said Tuesday that 24 vaccination centers will be opened for the three-day vaccination drive.
Garcia said the city health office targets to inoculate 13,673 individuals a day or for a total of 41,019 in three days.
Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar sounded an urgent appeal Tuesday to all unvaccinated individuals in the city, including those with incomplete doses, to get immunized.
“I am appealing, asking, and encouraging everyone to please take the opportunity again to submit yourselves for vaccination to complete your doses and booster shot on January 26 to 28,” Salazar said.
Currently, she said a total of 1,189,813 doses have already been administered in this city, of which 615,582 were first doses and 574,231 second doses.
A total of 62,031 individuals have already received their vaccine booster, Garcia said.
Dr. Joshua Brillantes, DOH – Zamboanga Peninsula director, said the Regional Vaccination Days is the region’s version of the National Vaccination Days conducted last year.
Brillantes said they aim to vaccinate 100,000 individuals against the coronavirus disease 2019 daily for a total of 300,000 vaccines in the region. (PNA)
