Corn farmers in Pigcawayan, North Cotabato, are expected to improve their productivity with the new PHP250,000 corn sheller machinery provided by the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) on Monday.

Evangeline Bueno, provincial agrarian reform program officer (PARPO ll), said the Barangay Anick Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Cooperative (AARBC) received the equipment under the DAR’s Climate Resilient Farm Productivity Support Program-Sustainable Livelihood Support (CRFPSP-SLS).

“DAR continues to support agrarian reform beneficiaries to increase their productivity and help ensure food sufficiency not only in the province but also in the country,” she said.

She pointed out that the farmers are the first to benefit from the project, followed by the Barangay Anick community and the Pigcawayan municipality “as a whole.”

Maricel Bona, municipal agrarian reform program officer (MARPO), said the Barangay Anick ARB Cooperative was chosen after a thorough selection process. (PNA)
