Davao Region Tallies 44.9K Covid-19 Recoveries

The Davao Region has recorded 44,964 patients who have beaten the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) since the pandemic struck in March last year, marking a recovery rate of 84.8 percent of the total 53,033 cases.

In a regional situation update released Tuesday, the Department of Health (DOH) 11 (Davao region) said Davao City has the highest number of recovered patients with 26,446; followed by Davao del Norte, 8,431; Davao de Oro, 3,265; Davao Oriental, 3,111; Davao del Sur, 2,991; and Davao Occidental, 720.

A total of 451 single-day recoveries were reported on July 27.

However, 106 new Covid-19 cases in the region pushed the total number of active infections to 6,305.

Meanwhile, 16 new deaths were recorded.

With the current Covid-19 caseload, the DOH-11 said 14.6 percent of the region’s intensive care unit beds dedicated to Covid-19 patients are available, along with 50 percent of isolation beds, 37.4 percent of ward beds, and 56.3 percent of mechanical ventilators. (PNA)
