Ricardo Cadavero, aka Cardong Trumpo, emerged as the grand winner of ABS-CBN’s talent reality show “Pilipinas Got Talent” Season 7 after beating seven other jaw-dropping acts in the show’s grand finals held at The Theater, Solaire Resort in Paranaque City.

Cardong Trumpo garnered 99.5% of the combined votes from online voters and judges and took home a P2 million cash prize. The construction worker secured his victory after his breathtaking performance balancing the “trumpo” in nylon threads.

“Ipinagdadasal ko lang na magkasya sa amin yung isang kilong bigas pero sobra-sobrang yung binigay mo, Lord, thank you. At sa inyong lahat, maraming salamat sa suporta,” Cardong Trumpo said after he was named as the newest “PGT” grand winner.

Throughout Ricardo’s “PGT” journey, he won the hearts of viewers as his audition video earned more than 22 million views. He also got the highest votes during his semifinal performance, which earned him a grand finals slot.

On the other hand, the all-gay dance group Femme MNL, which performed a high-energy routine paying tribute to their parents, came in second place with 50.4% and won ₱150,000.

Carl Quion, who wowed the judges with his magic act of turning back time and paying homage to the Philippines’ Comedy King Dolphy, placed third with 47.8% and got P100,000.

The five other finalists, Manza (44.6%), JB Bangcaya (44.4%), Jessie J (40.5%), NDDU Gnrls (37.1%), and Ody Sto. Domingo (32.2%) also gave their best performances.

Gracing the final showdown of “Pilipinas Got Talent” Season 7 were Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano, who performed “Hataw Na” and “Sins of the Father” lead star Gerald Anderson.

Many Filipinos tuned into the PGT 7: The Final Showdown as Cardong Trumpo trended worldwide while #PGT7Grandwinner trended nationwide.

“Pilipinas Got Talent” Season 7 boasts of power judges Freddie “FMG” M. Garcia, Eugene Domingo, Donny Pangilinan, and Kathryn Bernardo with hosts Robi Domingo and Melai Cantivero.
