In the face of the pandemic, it’s amazing that we help each other in times of need. However, we almmost forgot our furry friends in shelters, sanctuaries, and zoos who are also struggling during the pandemic.

Luckily, lots of Filipinos are also animal lovers and this Jungkook fanbase certainly did not forget about Maali! They celebrated the birthday of beloved Jungkook in a way that he certainly would have been happy about.

Like anything, it is always better when you’re in a community that encourages you to be your better self. And that is what a K-POP fanbase did for Maali.

Maali is a 47-year-old elephant in Manila Zoo who received gifts this week. In case you don’t know, she went viral in 2017 because a photo of an unhappy elephant holding its tail was mistaken to be Maali. In reality, Maali was doing great health-wise, just slightly overweight and attached to her keeper. It is clear that some netizens never forgot about Maali.
