Globe Acknowledges Roaming Glitch, Users Abroad Still Without Signal

Globe Telecom has issued a public statement confirming ongoing issues with its international roaming services, which have left users in several countries, including the U.S., UAE, Saudi Arabia, and parts of Asia and Europe, without mobile signal since June 4.

The company attributed the disruption to a surge in traffic that prevented affected customers from connecting to Globe’s roaming partners abroad. As a result, many have been unable to make or receive calls, access mobile data, or receive one-time passwords (OTPs) for critical services such as banking—an issue that has triggered frustration among customers.

Since the disruption began, users have taken to social media to air their complaints, with many expressing dismays over the lack of signal and the impact on their transactions and communications.

In response, Globe stated: “We wish to assure our customers abroad that our technical teams are working urgently with our international partners to resolve the issue.”

The telco also apologized for the disruption: “We understand how critical it is to stay connected, especially when you’re away from home. We apologize for this inconvenience.”

Globe is urging affected users to remain patient as restoration efforts continue: “We request for your patience and understanding as we work to bring our roaming services back online.”

No definite timeline has been provided yet for full restoration.
