A total of 252,846 individuals belonging to different priority groups have been fully vaccinated against the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) as of Sunday, November 21, in this city.

Data the City Health Office (CHO) released Monday showed that they represent 36.39 percent of the target eligible population of 694,696.

The data showed that the majority of those who are fully vaccinated were essential workers in the A4 priority group numbering to 79,858.

Next are the 66,930 individuals with comorbidity who belong to the A3 priority group.

The rest of the fully vaccinated individuals are as follows: indigent population (A5), 47,206; senior citizens (A2), 35,235; workers in front-line health services (A1), 17,035; rest of the population, 6,273; and, rest of the pediatric population, 307.

The data showed that 410,940 individuals, representing 59.15 percent of the target eligible population of 694,696, have received their first dose of Covid-19 vaccines.

On the other hand, 27,915 children aged 12 to 17 years old who belong to the rest of the pediatric population (ROPP) have already received their first dose of the Pfizer vaccine.

The Pfizer vaccine is one of the two vaccines allowed for children in the Philippines aside from Moderna.

Some 1,174 children aged 12 to 17 with comorbidities have also received their first dose, according to the City Health Office data.

The CHO has activated walk-in vaccination centers for both children and adults in food chain outlets, shopping malls, schools, and the city’s integrated bus terminal as it aimed to fully vaccinate 50 percent of the target eligible population of 694,696 by December, this year. (PNA)
