The planet Venus will be visible in the sky during the majority of December, reaching its “maximum brightness” on Wednesday, December 8, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration reported.

“For the whole month of December, Venus can be observed in the southwestern part of the sky after sunset. However, in late December, Venus may be already difficult to observe as it is just a few degrees above the horizon,” PAGASA stated.

The “close pairing” between the moon and Venus would be visible from 5:42 p.m. and on December 7th from 8:13 p.m. to 8:13 p.m.

And the much-awaited December 8th where Venus’ “greatest brightness” will shine at 12:09 a.m.

Moreover, there will also be moon-Saturn conjunction near the southern horizon between 5:42 p.m. and 7:42 p.m., and on December 8th from 9:17 p.m. to 9:17 p.m., and moon-Jupiter conjunction on December 9th at 5:42 p.m.

These moon-planetary conjunctions can be viewed with the naked eye or binoculars, however, PAGASA reminded stargazers to keep in mind that the spacing between the above-mentioned conjunctions is too great to fit in a telescope’s field of vision.
