Celebrating Filipino culture and the contributions of military personnel, two rising Filipino singers showcased their talents in the midst of a high-ranking basketball game between NBA G-League rivals.

On March 2, Filipino US-based artists Shiloh Baylon and Ardyanna “Ardy” Ducusin sang at the Filipino Heritage Military Day at Frontwave Arena in Oceanside in San Diego County.

San Diego houses many Filipino military staff, and this event aimed to pay respects to their customs and traditions.

The arena opened last September and holds a 7,500-capacity, perfect for the anticipated game between long standing rivals on the court – the San Diego Clippers and the visiting South Bay Lakers.

Back in 2022, Ducusin won the Star Mini Vocal Solo Title for her rendition of “I Dreamed a Dream” in San Diego.

A few months later, Ducusin received several trophies at the World Championship of Performing Arts (WCOPA) in Anaheim, California.

Baylon initially gained traction for her roles in musical theater, playing roles from The Little Mermaid, Annie, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

She trained at the Westminster Arts Academy, a prestigious music school in Orange County, and also released an EP last year titled “13 Candles”.

The event is spearheaded by the 3GS Care Foundation and its partners. 3GS has been constantly hosting charity events and sports activities, mainly basketball.

The foundation has also been recognized by Chien Wang, the president of the Asian Business Association, for its impact on after-school sport activities and entertainment, which puts utmost emphasis on children from America and the Philippines.

It has also been involved in a charity event by UNICEF, aiming to provide relief to the earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria.

Most recently, 3GS is also doing its best to bring help to people who were affected by the California wildfires.
