In Japan, where most people take their shoes off several times throughout the day, having clean socks is essential. That’s why Tabio, a Japanese sock company, developed the Oyayubi Sack, a small sock just for your big toe.
These little cloth pockets are made to be worn on the large thumbs of your feet. The reason for this is that the nail on the big toe is much harder than the others, and even when cut, it might grab the fabric or produce friction at the big-toe end of the sock.
These tiny socks resemble thimbles in shape, yet they’re wonderfully crafted, with tight stitching and a ribbed portion at the entrance, comparable to an ankle sock. By providing a narrow barrier between the fabric and the nail, this toe sheath prevents scrapes.
When worn with ordinary socks, you won’t be able to tell you’re wearing them since no one except you will notice. Only one size of big toe socks is offered and is only available online at Tabio’s Official Website for ¥220 (about PHP 100) for a set of two.
