Filipino boy group SB19—composed of Sejun, Josh, Stell, Ken and Justin—ruled the MYX Awards 2020 after being hailed as both New Artist and Artist of the Year, as well as winning Song of the Year for their highly successful single ‘Go Up’.

MYX held the virtual awards celebration last Saturday, which honored today’s hitmakers and showcased exclusive musical performances from local and international artists.

James Reid and last year’s Artist of the Year Nadine Lustre bagged the Music Video of the Year award for their song ‘Summer’ which Nadine co-directed with Chino Villagracia. James and Just Hush also won Urban Video of the Year for “Fiend.”

Himig Handog 2019’s Best Song ‘Mabagal,’ interpreted by Moira Dela Torre and Daniel Padilla, racked up wins in two categories—Collaboration of the Year and Mellow Video of the Year, while former PBB housemates Kiara Takahashi and Gino Roque, known together as KiaNo, shared the award for MYX Celebrity VJ of the Year.

IV of Spades’ ‘Come Inside of My Heart’ prevailed as the Rock Video of the Year, while record-breaking K-pop boy band BTS scored International Video of the Year for the song ‘Boy with Luv’ featuring Halsey.

Meanwhile, the late Master Rapper Francis Magalona was honored with a posthumous MYX Magna Award. OPM artists Gary Valenciano, Raymund Marasigan, Chito Miranda, and Yael Yuzon performed a tribute for him through a performance of ‘Kaleidoscope World’. The rapper’s children—Elmo, Barq, and Saab Magalona—also joined the performance.

The event featured performances from SB19, Route 83, Julie Anne San Jose, Darren Espanto, KZ, Shanti Dope, Inigo Pascual, Ben&Ben, Gracie Abrams, Alexander 23, Valentina Ploy, Keshi, Ava Max, Powfu, Maximillian, Honne and Anne-Marie.
