Some 1.72 million individuals in Caraga Region have been vaccinated against coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) as of Sept. 14, the regional Department of Health (DOH-13) said on Wednesday.

“The number of fully vaccinated individuals represents 89.53 percent of the target population for vaccination in the region,” DOH-13 said, adding that about 3.7 million Covid-19 vaccines were administrated in the area during the period.

Individuals with the first dose of Covid-19 vaccines numbered 1,871,471 or 97.08 percent of the target population, it said.

The report also indicated that 308,620 residents in Caraga have availed of first booster vaccine doses, while 34,475 with second booster shots.

“The number of individuals with the first dose of booster shots represents 16.01 percent of the target population, and the second booster shots at 1.79 percent,” it said.

The agency said the total cumulative number of Covid-19 infections in the region now stands at 61,128, with 58,566 recoveries, 284 active cases, and 2,278 deaths. (PNA)
