A PHP6.5 million super health center here is now open to better serve the medical needs of residents.
The health facility in Barangay Taganito, equipped with advanced medical equipment worth PHP5 million, was completed through the efforts of the Department of Health (DOH), the office of Senator Christopher Lawrence Go, and the local government unit.
“This health facility will decongest the number of patients we are catering to daily in our main health center in Claver,” Mayor Georgia Gokiangkee said in her message during the opening activity on Wednesday afternoon.
The main health center in the Poblacion area serves approximately 80 patients daily, most of whom come from different barangays in the town.
“With the construction of this super health center, residents from Barangays Hayanggabon, Urbiztondo, and Cagdianao need not go to the primary health center in the Poblacion. Gokiangkee said.
In an interview on the event’s sideline, Municipal Health Officer Dr. Landley Chua said the super health center will be regularly manned by a doctor, at least three nurses, and other medical staff.
“This new health facility is expected to alleviate the burden on the main health center located in the heart of Claver town,” Chua added.
In a message delivered by a representative, Go said 132 new super health centers have been built in the country since January this year.
At least 307 super health centers were also established in 2022, and another 322 in 2023 across the country. (PNA)
