The provincial government of Negros Occidental has scheduled a three-day “walk-in” vaccination at the Capitol-owned Negros Residences here for employees who want to avail of booster dose against the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

In a memorandum order, Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz II said booster shots are available starting Tuesday for personnel who have already availed of second doses from the Provincial Health Office (PHO) and or their local government units (LGUs).

“The PHO will cater to 500 personnel per day on a first come, first served basis,” he said.

Currently, vaccines available for booster shots are the US-made Moderna and European-manufactured AstraZeneca.

Those who have been vaccinated by Sinovac, AstraZeneca, Pfizer, and Moderna jabs after at least three months and by the single-dose Janssen after at least two months can already avail of booster doses.

“Personnel who will not observe the given dates will have their booster shots at their respective LGUs,” Diaz said.

As of January 9, at least 873,223 residents of Negros Occidental have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19, data released by the PHO showed.

The number is equivalent to 47.84 percent of the 1.825 million province’s target vaccine recipients, or 70 percent of the total population.

Also, 1.135 million Negrenses have already availed at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, or 62.22 percent of the target population. (PNA)
