Filipino-American Craig McFarland has been accepted to Brown University, Columbia University, Cornell University, Dartmouth College, Harvard University, Princeton University, University of Pennsylvania, and Yale University. Passing an Ivy League school is a great accomplishment, but getting into all of it is something very few in this world have experienced.

Craig McFarland is the son of Donabel Santiago, a single mom and a registered cardiac sonographer. He graduated as the class valedictorian at Stanton College Preparatory School in Jacksonville, Florida. Despite his great feat of getting into eight of the Ivy League universities, McFarland was actually accepted into 17 schools for his college education.

The 18-year-old originally planned to go to Yale University, but has changed his mind and is now going to go to Harvard University. He changed his plans due to the disruptions and changes that the unexpected COVID-19 pandemic has brought about.

McFarland shared that on-campus activities and life on campus at Yale is what made it appealing to him. Given the pandemic wherein classes have been moved to an online medium, has changed his mind to go to Harvard. The straight-A student also shares that he has love for the Yale community but the Harvard community was a perfect match.

McFarland also expressed interest in studying molecular and cellular biology, linguistics or biomedical engineering. With a grade-point average of 4.98, there is no doubt that no matter his field of study, he’ll excel.
