The city government on Saturday launched an intensified campaign to promote locally produced products or services offered by entrepreneurs here to help ease the impact of the pandemic on them.

“Sa kalagitnaan ng pandemyang ito, hindi natin pwedeng pabayaan ang ating kapwa Dagupeño na nagpupursigi upang makapaghanap-buhay. (In the midst of this pandemic, we cannot neglect our fellow Dagupeños who are persevering to earn a living),” Mayor Marc Brian Lim said during the launching program on Saturday.

The products being exhibited include souvenir items, homegrown mushroom, rice, pastries, plants, and milkfish products, among others.

The exhibitors are Matalunggaring Mangin Irrigators Association, Chaina’s Cakes and Pastries, Jarold’s Food Products, Produktong Dagupeño Marketing Cooperation, Amiga, Ann’s Food Products, Coco Banana Chips, Pan de Dagupan, and a propagator of herbal plants.

Retired city agriculturist Emma Molina said there will be more exhibitors next week as the products are being sold at the SM Center Dagupan from Sept. 26 to Oct. 10.

“Some of the exhibitors are new entrepreneurs supported by the City Agriculture Office from the time they started developing their products. They are products of our skills upgrading programs we had partnered with government agencies like the Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Training Institute, Department of Science and Technology, and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI),” Molina said.

She said exhibitors are registered with DTI and the Bureau of Internal Revenue.

Molina added some of them offer processed products that have undergone laboratory analysis and nutritional value analysis. (PNA)
