South Korean actor Kim Ji Soo has just won the “Outstanding International Actor in Cross-Cultural Series” award at the 2024 Ima Wa Ima Asian International Film Festival. He received the award at the film festival’s Entertainment Special Awards Night held at the Sumiyoshi Main Hall in Osaka, Japan, on December 1.

This honor recognizes Ji Soo’s outstanding performance in the hit GMA series Abot Kamay Na Pangarap, where his portrayal of a doctor and the love interest of lead star Jillian Ward showcased his acting abilities, chemistry with his partner, and professionalism, no matter where he is.

“I really appreciate GMA Network and my management team in the Philippines, especially Ms. Kath, for the opportunities given to me that allowed me to grow as an actor,” he said in his acceptance speech. “I couldn’t have done this without the support of my family, fans, talented co-stars, and the amazing team I work with. Their hard work and dedication made this all possible. And lastly, my wonderful fans and supporters who have always been there along the way. I wouldn’t be here today without all of you.”

Truly making a fashion statement, the South Korean actor attended the event wearing pieces from renowned Filipino designer Randy Ortiz, who is known for pioneering modern Filipiniana. Ji Soo is usually seen donning international luxury brands on the red carpet and in lifestyle events, so it is very refreshing and exciting to see him in the creations of Randy Ortiz: a tweed trench jacket, a stylized vest made from indigenous weave, and wide-legged tux pants.

The Ima Wa Ima Asian International Film Festival is well-respected for celebrating exceptional talent across Asia, making this award a significant milestone in Ji Soo’s career. With this recognition, everyone is now eager and excited to see what Kim Ji Soo will do next.
