A new image circulating shows that the ‘Mother of Dragons’ will replace the ‘Queen of the Seas’ in the Aquaman sequel from Warner Bros. and DC Comics.

As fan art of Emilia Clarke photoshopped as Mera circulated on Instagram, fans have expressed their acceptance of the Game of Thrones star replacing Amber Heard in the second chapter of Aquaman.

In 2020, fans have been demanding for Warner Bros. and DC Comics to replace Heard with Clarke to play the character of Mera after Warner Bros. ordered Johnny Depp to leave his role as Grindelwald in the Fantastic Beasts series back in November, which the fans felt was unjust.

The commotion began in 2016, when Heard filed for divorce and got a temporary restraining order against Depp on May 23, 2016, alleging Depp had physically abused her during their relationship, and that it happened most often while he was high on drugs or alcohol.

In 2019, Depp filed a libel case against Heard for defamation.

Depp lost the case against Heard in November 2020, which caused him to lose his character in the Fantastic Beasts installation.

As of writing, Warner Bros. or DC Comics have yet to release a statement whether the speculations of Clarke replacing Heard is true.
