The Filipino community here held a Philippine Food, Culture and Trade Festival Qatar (PFCTFQ) on Oct. 20-21 at the Sapphire Plaza Hotel with hundreds of visitors in attendance.

A well participated event by more than 30 Filipino cuisine and trade exhibitors, including Philippine Airlines (PAL), showcased top products, services and cuisines of the Philippines in Arabian Gulf state of Qatar, host of 2022 mega FIFA World Up.

Two more PAL flights will be added between Manila-Doha-Manila to cater to the demand of football lovers from Far East.

FIFA Cup tournament 2022 will take off on Nov. 20 with the first match between the host country Qatar football team and Ecuador.

It is the first ever FIFA Cup to be held in the Middle East region.

Officials from the Philippine Embassy alongside prominent Qatari businessmen and Filipino entrepreneurs attended the opening of the Filipino Festival.

Highlights of the event include a grand cultural fashion parade known as the “sagala” with more than 300 participants, talent competitions, cultural performances, cooking competitions, exhibitions and other activities for the whole family.

This comeback event of the Filipino community was organized by Kulinarya Qatar in collaboration with the Philippine Embassy Doha and the Filipino community headed by the Association of Filipino Realtors and Entrepreneurs in Qatar. (PNA)
