Department of National Defense (DND) Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. on Monday touted Eid’l Fitr as a moment to celebrate “spiritual renewal and strength of unity”, as the government continues to uphold peace and justice in the country.
The DND chief extended his greetings to the Muslim community on the occasion marking the end of the fasting month of Ramadan.
“As we mark the end of the Holy Month of Ramadan, a time of deep reflection, prayer, and self-restraint, we honor the important values it teaches – faith, patience, discipline, and compassion,” Teodoro said in his message.
The DND chief also hoped that the teachings of Islam guide Muslims to act with wisdom, humility, and service to others amid ongoing security challenges being faced by the country.
“May Allah accept our good deeds and bless our nation with peace and prosperity. Eid Mubarak!” Teodoro added.
On Sunday evening, Bangsamoro Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdulrauf Guialani announced that Eid’l Fitr would officially be observed on Monday after the crescent moon was sighted in various locations in the Bangsamoro Region. Monday has been declared a regular non-working day in the region.
