A five-minute police response to emergency calls is achievable within the Caraga Region, a top police official said Monday.

“In the Caraga region, we have established a mobile application utilizing location-based technology for more accessible crime reporting and swift police assistance,” said Brig. Gen. Christopher Abrahano, director of the Police Regional Office-Caraga (PRO-13), at a press conference that included a simulation activity.

Abarahano was referring to the AGAP mobile application, which was officially launched at PRO-13 headquarters before the May 12 midterm polls.

During a live simulation exercise at the press briefing, the AGAP application was used to request police assistance in two different locations: Butuan City and Surigao City.

As a direct result, police operatives arrived at the specified areas to provide assistance in less than three minutes.

The five-minute police response is among the key priorities set by Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Nicolas Torre III.

Abrahano also lauded the newly implemented eight-hour, three-shift work system within the PRO-13, noting that it aims to improve police visibility, boost operational efficiency, and ensure a balanced distribution of manpower across all units.

“Through these strategic initiatives, PRO-13 remains resolute in its mission to protect and serve the people of the Caraga Region,” he said. (PNA)
