The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) education ministry has turned over more than PHP35 million worth of school buildings in Lanao del Sur and Maguindanao.

“This is to give importance to teachers and students despite the pandemic,” Minister Mohagher Iqbal of the Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education said in a statement Thursday.

On Wednesday, Iqbal led the turnover of school buildings for Maguindanao Schools Division 1 and Lanao del Sur Schools Division 2 in the respective provinces.

The turnover was through the MBHTE Education Facilities Section worth PHP35,157,573.

Iqbal said the projects included six single-storey, 3-classroom buildings; and a single-storey, five-classroom building funded under the 2018 Basic Education Facilities Fund.

In Maguindanao Division 1, the school buildings were turned over to the Paglat National High School in Paglat town, and in Pandag National High School.

In Lanao del Sur Division 2, the recipients are the Kialilidan Primary School, Prentacom Elementary School, Marogong Central Elementary School, and the Ampaso Memorial National High School.

MBHTE has identified other areas in the region where school buildings will be built as a commitment to improving the region’s quality of education. (PNA)
