ABS-CBN Sports launches its special programming on S+A this April, offering Filipinos a mix of classic games, breaking news, and a celebrity workout show as different parts of the country remain under quarantine due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
To help Filipinos be in tiptop shape while staying indoors, the sports channel of ABS-CBN introduced “Team FitFil,” a dance/fitness workout program hosted by celebrity and professional coaches, Jim and Toni Saret, together with famous choreographer Mickey Perz and Kapamilya stars and Star Hunt artists. The groundbreaking daily show, done via video chat, airs on Wednesdays at 7:30 am with replays at 3:30 pm. It also airs on weekends at 8:30 am with replays at 3:30 pm.
S+A also brings back the best games in previous UAAP and NCAA seasons via “S+A Encore” to inspire and entertain people through the great performances of UAAP basketball and volleyball players in “UAAP Classics,” and the grit and heart of NCAA cagers in “NCAA Throwbacks.” “S+A Encore” airs from Monday to Sunday at various timeslots, while epic games from the MPBL Lakan Season take the spotlight every Monday to Wednesday and Saturday at 10 pm.
Fight fans will also be in for a treat with the telecast of hard-hitting MMA bouts in 2019 from ONE Championship every Thursday and Friday at 9 pm. There will also be a “ONE Warrior Series Season 4” marathon on Sunday (April 5) starting at 6 pm. S+A also got motorheads covered with high-octane motoring content to keep their adrenaline running even at home—with ANC’s Rev, Mobil 1 The Grid, and Formula E Street Racers airing daily at 1 pm and 6:30 pm.
ABS-CBN Sports also aims to keep the public informed about the government’s campaign to fight the COVID-19 pandemic as it simulcasts programs of the ABS-CBN News Channel (ANC) starting at 8 am. Viewers also have time to reflect and pray with Kapamilya Daily Masses at 10 am Mondays to Saturdays, and 11 am every Sunday.
ABS-CBN Integrated Sports head Dino Laurena said these changes are part of ABS-CBN Sports’ commitment to deliver cheer and inspiration to Filipinos especially at this difficult time for the nation.
“Regardless of the situation, ABS-CBN Sports will not waver in uplifting the spirit of Filipinos whether through sports, news, lifestyle, or spiritual content that will help ensure their well-being,” he said.
