Seasoned Filipino dessert specialist and creator behind Dubai’s viral FIX chocolate bar Nouel Catis Omamalin launched his new chocolate brand, Sna’ap, at the beginning of October 2024.

Chef Catis, a UAE-based Filipino pastry chef widely known for the creation of the trendy Fix ‘Can’t Get Knafeh of It’ chocolate, recently introduced his own brand Sna’ap Chocolates with the aim of “bringing the flavors of the UAE to life.”

In an exclusive interview with a Filipino magazine, Catis shared his inspiration for his new venture, highlighting the value of culinary innovation to a chef like him, who has long been working in the shadows of an international chocolatier.

“Working behind the scenes and contributing to others’ success can be rewarding, but if you stay there for too long, you risk not fully acknowledging your own impact—especially in areas like culinary innovation,” he expressed.

“It’s time to embrace my place in this world and share my creations with a wider audience, and that’s how Sna’ap was born,” he added.

Sna’ap, with its rich unique flavor, transcends the ordinary. It is a blend of tradition and innovation, of authenticity and inclusivity—a delectable testament to Catis’s Filipino roots and UAE heritage.

“What’s distinctly Filipino about Sna’ap is the ingenuity behind it, which draws from my roots but is deeply influenced by the rich heritage of the UAE,” he stressed.

On its first day, Sna’ap cleared out 2,000 bars, marking its exciting and luscious beginning in the world of dessert-making.

Catis stated that they are working on introducing Filipino flavors into future collections and expanding its reach across the UAE and beyond, noting that Sna’ap is “a celebration of culture, connection, and shared experiences.”

Chef Nouel Catis is an internationally acclaimed pastry consultant and the creator of the Million Dollar Dessert Magic in the Middle East. He collaborated with Sarah Hamouda of Fix Dessert Chocolatier for the creation of the Fix chocolate bar in 2021.
