It has been more than a month since Super Typhoon Odette brought devastation to millions of Filipinos, with many families still in evacuation centers and in need of assistance as they strive to rise again.

With them in mind, ABS-CBN Foundation continues its relief operations, which has already gone to affected areas in Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao. As of January 25, a total of 141,634 families or 708,170 Filipinos have received food and basic necessities thanks to donations raised by ABS-CBN and ABS-CBN Foundation’s “Tulong-Tulong sa Pag-Ahon” campaign.

Among the beneficiaries was teacher Alnie Espiel from Brgy. Cancohoy, Del Carmen in Siargao Island, whose request for help during an interview on TeleRadyo was heeded immediately by ABS-CBN Foundation.

“You heard my call for help for the people in our hometown. Thank you for the help which was able to reach us,” she said in a report aired by “TV Patrol.”

With her home heavily damaged, Alnie and her parents have been staying with their neighbor while they try to fix their home using scrap materials they can find. The situation is the same in Brgy. Tangbo, where people are in need of construction materials to rebuild or repair their homes aside from food to get them through the day.

“I would like to thank everyone that has given us aid. You are all now part of our lives. We continue to hope and ask for your help,” said their captain, Lalo Congresso to ABS-CBN News.

Meanwhile, the 100 days of fundraising activities for Odette survivors under the “Tulong-Tulong sa Pag-Ahon: Isang Daan sa Pagtutulungan” campaign continue to inspire generosity and kindness among Filipinos. The “Truth or Dare” benefit interactive show with Kapamilya heartthrobs hosted by Alora Sasam, Melai Cantiveros-Francisco, and Darla Sauler will run until Friday (January 28) featuring Edward Barber, Robi Domingo, and Luis Manzano.

Before them, fellow ABS-CBN leading men Joshua Garcia, Anthony Jennings, Jeremiah Lisbo, JC Alcantara, and Aljon Mendoza, Paulo Avelino and JC De Vera, Zanjoe Marudo, Hyubs Azarcon, LA Tenorio, and Daniel Padilla, Joao Constancia, Jameson Blake, Jeremy Glinoga, and Seth Fedelin, Gerald Anderson and Jake Cuenca, BGYO, and the trio of Carlo Aquino, Jerome Ponce, and Nikko Natividad also gamely answered questions and challenges from fans in exchange of donations.

Taking over after “Truth or Dare” is the online selling of “PBB Kumunity Season 10” housemates, which will start on Saturday (January 29) to February 7 at 8 pm on @PBBKumuRoom on Kumu, ABS-CBN Entertainment YouTube channel, ABS-CBN Facebook page, iWantTFC, and SKYcable HD ch. 955 and SD ch. 155.

Before them, the “ASAP Natin ‘To” family also offered their talents to help typhoon victims through the “By Request” benefit concert series, which raised P5.18 million in ten days and will have a part two.

As of January 25, the total cash donations entrusted to ABS-CBN Foundation for this cause has reached P75,944,000, while it also received in kind donations of rice, canned goods, water, hygiene kits, and blankets worth P15,687,000.

Donors can also help by availing Tulong Bag donation vouchers on Lazada and Shopee that are equivalent to a food pack (rice and canned goods) for an individual or an entire family.
