The Makati City government will provide free coronavirus disease (Covid-19) tests to qualified residents.

In a social media advisory on Monday, the city government said it will allow symptomatic residents to avail themselves of the reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction and antigen tests for Covid-19 free of charge.

Senior citizens, persons with comorbidities, indigent population, and even unvaccinated individuals who are close contacts of a Covid-19 patient are qualified for the free Covid-19 tests, citing that they are most vulnerable to contracting the dreaded infection.

“Ipapatupad ito dahil sa tumataas na demand ng libreng Covid-19 testing (This is being implemented amid the increasing demand of free Covid-19 tests),” the city’s advisory read.

The city epidemiology and surveillance unit will decide whether patients will undergo antigen or RT-PCR tests.

The city government said the antigen test kits are from the Department of Health and Abbott Laboratories Philippines.

Symptomatic residents may contact 0917-844-6997, 0917-812-1229, 0917-844-6904, (02) 8870-1442, (02) 8870-1444, (02) 8870-1447, (02) 8870-1448, or send an email via [email protected].

They can also avail themselves of Makati’s e-consultation services through Facebook or Viber application.

The city reminded residents to stay home and go out only for essential travel.
