The Pasig City government has developed its own patient information management system application (app), which is now at the final stages of data migration and testing development, Mayor Vico Sotto said Monday.

Sotto said the development of the app is set to be operational and is nearing completion.

“Nasa data migration stage na tayo at final testing so pag natapos ‘yan within the week hopefully ay dire-diretso na tayo (We are already in the data migration stage and final testing so when it’s completed within the week, hopefully, we can push through [with the implementation]),” Sotto said in a Facebook live stream.

Sotto said the application could speed up the medical interventions and treatment capacity of the local government amid the coronavirus diseases (Covid-19) pandemic.

“Ito pong app na sinasabi ko, patient management system siya, so magiging mas mabilis ang action natin kasi lahat ng opisina nakikita ‘yung impormasyon ng pasyente (The app that I am talking about is a patient management system, so we can have a quicker action because all offices have access to patient’s information),” he said.

The app system could speed up the monitoring of the patients as it contains information vital to the city’s treatment capacity.

“Mas mahalaga sa ngayon yung patient management app para mapabilis ang mga CESU [City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit], ng emergency unit at ng buong health department natin at ng mga ospital (For now, the patient management app is more important in order to hasten our CESU, our emergency units, our entire health department, and the hospitals),” he said.

On the other hand, Sotto said the city government is also working on the final stages of developing a contact tracing application, as part of its measures to curb the local transmission within the community.

The city government seeks to ramp up contact tracing for those who were exposed to Covid-19 patients so that they will be immediately isolated from communities. (PNA)
