Eighteen houses out of the 129 slots at the Villa Maniboc socialized housing project phase 2 of the provincial government and the National Housing Authority were awarded to provincial government employees on Monday.

In a Facebook post on Monday, the provincial government said the typical housing design of each unit is a single-attached dwelling with a floor area of 36 square meters, which includes a living area, dining area, kitchen area, two bedrooms, toilet and bathroom with tiles, and provision for a garage.

Alvin Bigay, Pangasinan Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Office (PHUDCO) chief, said the housing units were built on a turnkey basis by a private contractor hired by the housing beneficiaries.

Bigay said the 1.8-hectare housing site is a portion of the 5.5-hectare property, which is jointly owned by the provincial government and the NHA by virtue of Presidential Proclamation No. 499 and described in the Original Certificate of Title (OCT) SP-1 (37165).

“The Home Development Mutual Fund of Pag-IBIG Fund also provided liberalized housing loans to the beneficiaries to finance the house construction and acquisition of developed home lots. Thus, beneficiaries will pay for their individual units on a monthly installment depending on the number of years that they opted with Pag-IBIG,” the post reads.

Each housing site covers a lot area of 90 square meters.

As of posting, a total of 28 units were completed, 57 are undergoing construction, while the rest are still in various stages of documentation needed prior to construction.

“Noting that the housing project has given an opportunity for homeless government employees to realize their dream of having a home. Governor Amado Espino III stressed that it is important that the dwellers should seize the opportunity of having something that they can call their own,” the post added. (PNA)
