ABS-CBN’s new digital shows “PILIkula” and “MNL48 Presents” are giving fans the power to choose the lead stars they want to see and the story they want to enjoy right at their fingertips.

In “PILIkula,” viewers have a say in the fate of the characters as it allows fans to select the scenes they want to follow each past episode through clapper stickers on KUMU app (kumu.ph/starhunt) for a week. There are two options that fans can choose from; the scene with the most stickers will be uploaded the next day. All the voted scenes will be strewn together to form the complete short film, which will be uploaded every Friday on Star Hunt’s YouTube channel, and can also be streamed on KUMU.

For its first offering, “Ghost of the Past,” the show gave fans the chance to watch Karina Bautista and Aljon Mendoza in a story about a student assistant Amy (Karina), who is forced to face her past as she accidentally shares a ride with her ex-boyfriend Dani (Aljon), whom she ghosted three months earlier. The episode was uploaded last Saturday (March 28).

Streaming on Facebook and YouTube channel of MNL48, “MNL48 Presents,” meanwhile, lets fans vote for the MNL48 idol or “oshi” that will star in each episode.

Every month, a new story will be announced on MNL48’s social media accounts as the oshis are given two weeks to earn votes in the form of virtual gifts in the KUMU app. The top two gift earners will be hailed the stars of the month.

For its pilot episode, MNL48 members Ecka Sibug and Sela Guia starred in “2020 Vision,” which premiered last Thursday (March 26). Meanwhile, viewers should watch out for the the next episode, titled “I-dol,” which is a about a superfan who creates an imaginary perfect idol but encounters problems along the way.

“MNL48 Presents” and PILIkula” add to the long list of digital initiatives of ABS-CBN, the Philippines’ leading media and entertainment company, which is rapidly transitioning into an agile digital company with the biggest online presence among all media companies, and a growing list of digital properties.
