More millennial mayors are garnering online recognition for their show of leadership within their respective local government units during the national health crisis caused by the COVID-19 outbreak.

In Alaminos City, Pangasinan, Mayor Arth Bryan Celeste is maximizing all efforts in leading his community in helping and in aiding his constituents affected by the virus and the enhanced community quarantine.

Upon news of the Luzon-wide lockdown, Celeste ensured that provisions were to be made available to more than 25,000 families in Alaminos City. With his team, the young mayor personally packed and distributed relief goods to the different barangays.

Another action undertaken by his LGU was in helping their local farmers through buying their fruit and vegetable produce and also distributing them to Alaminos City residents.

In a recent online post, the mayor reassures constituents that he, along with his local government team, the barangay officials, and the private sector, are maximizing efforts to ensure that relief goods reach everyone.

At the age of 23, Celeste is the country’s youngest elected mayor. He quickly joins the ranks of young officials — such as the likes of Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto–who are setting a new standard in Philippine politics and leadership.

Upon a year of his graduation from the De La Salle University – Manila, Celeste followed his father’s footsteps, Arthur Celeste who was the previous mayor of Alaminos City from 2013 to 2019.
