4. Manny Pacquiao

In 2017, Pres. Duterte publicly declared his support for boxing champ and Sen. Manny Pacquiao as his MalacaƱang successor. However, Pacquiao said last May that he still has no political plans for 2022.

Pacquiao is still on his first term as a senator, and he may run for a second one instead of the highest office. He said he is currently enjoying his time in the Senate as he is studying our system of government. However, he is setting up his own local party, the People’s Champ Movement to get a national accreditation so he can run under it next time.

He said he is currently focusing on finding solutions for the country’s economic problems such as high taxes.
