“The Voice Teens” made history on Sunday night (August 16) when its latest season named four grand champions for the first time, namely Heart Salvador of Alabang, Cydel Gabutero of Negros Occidental, Isang Manlapaz of Muntinlupa, and Kendra Aguirre of Las Pinas.

The grand champions, who logged the highest scores in their respective finale group performances, each won P500,000 and a brand new house and lot from Lessandra.

Heart secured her victory with a final score of 40.83% to win Kamp Kawayan, Cydel with 48.33% to win FamiLea, Isang with 45.83% to win Team Apl, and Kendra with 44.17% to win Team Sarah.

For the finale, the season’s top 12 teen artists battled it out in three-way group performances with their respective coaches. Each artist’s final score comprised of 50% from his or her own coach, while the other 50% came from the average score given by the other three coaches.

Before announcing the quadruple surprise, host Luis Manzano said the decision to name four winners was made to help the artists and their families deal with the pandemic.

“Kami dito sa ABS-CBN ay naglalayong matulungan ang deserving teen artists pati ang kanilang mga pamilya para magkaroon pa ng kakayang maharap at malagpasan nang matiwasay ang mga hamon na dala ng pagsubok na ito,” he said.

The two-day finale weekend also got netizens buzzing as the official hashtags #VoiceTeensFinale and #VoiceTeensS2Winner trended on Twitter.

Due to the ongoing quarantine, the teen artists shot their performances from their own homes as the coaches commented on their performances and gave their scores via Zoom.
