An improvised disinfection booth has been put up at the entrance of the municipal compound here where residents going to transact business at the local government unit (LGU) offices have to go through before proceeding inside.

Mayor Webster Letargo said the misting device with plastic walls and iron frame is patterned after that of the Alfonso town in Cavite province.

Those who will pass through the misting device must do a 360-degree turn for about five seconds. Those going out of the municipal compound will again have to pass through the booth.

Letargo said a similar booth shall be put up in the coming days at the entrance and exit of the public market to contain the spread of the Covid-19.

He appealed to all residents to just stay home while relief goods are distributed by the local government, assuring all the 59 barangays will be provided with relief aid.

Gumaca town remains free of Covid-19. (PNA)
