In its latest case bulletin, the Department of Health (DOH) noted that recoveries account for 93.9 percent of the total case count which has reached 1,327,431 since the start of the pandemic last year.

The agency also reported 5,389 new cases, bringing the total number of active cases to 58,063.

About 91.8 percent of these active cases are mild, 3.8 percent are asymptomatic, 1.3 percent are critical, 1.8 percent are severe, and 1.30 percent are moderate.

According to DOH data on June 13, about 13.9 percent of 30,472 who were tested turned out positive for Covid-19.

“Some nine duplicates were removed from the total case count, and of these, four were recovered cases. Moreover, 304 cases previously reported to be recoveries have been validated to be active cases, and 65 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation,” the DOH said.

All laboratories were operational on June 13 while 16 laboratories were not able to submit their data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System (CDRS).

The DOH noted the 16 non-reporting laboratories contribute, on average, 5.5 percent of samples tested, and 7.1 percent of positive individuals based on data in the last 14 days.

To date, 59 percent of 3,500 intensive care unit beds, 47 percent of 19,000 isolation beds, 48 percent of 12,400 ward beds, and 37 percent of 2,800 ventilators are utilized by patients with Covid-19 nationwide.
