An additional 4,585 patients have beaten the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), pushing the country’s overall recovery count to 1,257,774 on Thursday.

The Department of Health (DOH), in its latest Covid-19 bulletin, said recoveries account for 93.9 percent of a total of 1,339,457 infections since the start of the pandemic last year.

Another 6,637 new cases and 155 new deaths were also reported. These figures bring the overall tally of active cases to 58,407 and the death toll to 23,276.

The latest figures showed 91.8 percent of the active cases are mild, 3.8 percent are asymptomatic, 1.8 percent are severe, 1.30 percent are moderate, and 1.3 percent are in critical condition.

“There were 12 duplicates removed from the total case count as 10 of these are recoveries. Moreover, 235 cases previously tagged as recovered have been validated to be active cases, and 107 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation,” it said.

DOH data on June 15, likewise, showed that 11.9 percent of 44,425 who were tested turned out positive for Covid-19.

All laboratories were operational on June 15 while five laboratories were not able to submit their data to the Covid-19 Document Repository System (CDRS).

“Based on data in the last 14 days, the five non-reporting laboratories contribute, on average, 0.66 percent of samples tested and 1.14 percent of positive individuals,” the DOH said.

To date, 57 percent of 3,600 intensive care unit beds, 46 percent of 19,100 isolation beds, 46 percent of 12,400 ward beds, and 36 percent of 2,700 ventilators dedicated to patients with Covid-19 are in use nationwide.

Meanwhile, 46 percent of 1,200 intensive care unit beds, 36 percent of 4,800 isolation beds, 33 percent of 3,600 ward beds, and 31 percent of 1,000 ventilators dedicated to patients with Covid-19 are being used in the National Capital Region.

The public is reminded to stay at home and to observe minimum health standards when going out.

The DOH urged those experiencing Covid-19 symptoms to immediately isolate and contact the Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams. (PNA)
