Malacañang has directed all government agencies and the private sector to support programs and activities for the celebration of the 2025 Philippine Creative Industries Month, in line with the efforts to empower Filipino creative professionals.

Under Memorandum Circular (MC) 95 signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin on Sept. 2, all national government agencies, including government-owned and -controlled corporations (GOCCs), as well as the local government units and private stakeholders, are mandated to extend full support to the initiatives and celebrations lined up for Creative Industries Month.

Republic Act (RA) 11904 or the Philippine Creative Industries Development Act declares September of every year as “the Philippine Creative Industries Month” to promote Filipino creatives and raise awareness of their role in nation building and socioeconomic advancement.

The Philippine Creative Industries Development Council (PCIDC), through the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) serving as its secretariat, will lead the planning and coordination of mechanisms, programs, and promotional efforts, working hand-in-hand with the private sector and the academe.

This year’s month-long celebration, which carries the theme “We are a Creative Nation,” will showcase the rich cultural heritage and vibrant artistic expression of the Filipino people.

Programs and activities for the 2025 Philippine Creative Industries Month aim to highlight the contributions of the creative industries to national development, while positioning the Philippines as Asia’s Premier Creative Hub by 2030.

Funding requirements for the implementation of MC 95, which takes effect immediately, will be sourced from the available appropriations of concerned agencies, subject to existing budgeting and auditing rules. (PNA)
