Previously located in Tandag City, Surigao del Sur, the OVP relocated the office to Butuan City, recognizing its strategic position as the region’s central hub. The move aims to provide wider access to the OVP’s programs and services for Caraganons.

The event was led by Rolmar Basalan, head of the OVP’s Caraga satellite office, and Eymard Eje, chief of the OVP’s Disaster Operations Center.

The new office is situated along J.C. Aquino Avenue, a major thoroughfare in Barangay Bayanihan, Butuan City.

“With the opening of the OVP satellite office in Butuan City, more residents in the Caraga Region will be able to access our programs and services,” Basalan said during the event.

The OVP will offer a range of services, including medical, burial, and relief assistance, especially during calamities and disasters affecting the region.

Among the available services is the “Magnegosyo Ta ‘Day” program, which provides financial support and basic business management training for women and members of the LGBTQ+ community to help them start or expand small businesses.
