The municipality of Opol in Misamis Oriental facilitated more than 3,000 job vacancies for its residents from various local and multinational companies on Tuesday.

In an interview, Maisie Quidella, manager of Opol’s Public Employment Service Office, said the job fair was not only for diverse jobseekers but also for graduating students of the Opol Community College.

“This initiative aims to decrease our unemployment rate in our municipality,” she said.

Quidella noted that job openings were also made available for out-of-school youth and other professionals participating in the activity.

During the job fair, there were 482 job postings available locally and 2,584 opportunities abroad.

On the same day, the municipality of Lantapan in Bukidnon also conducted a job fair for its residents in celebration of its founding anniversary. (PNA)
