The Land Transportation Office (LTO) at the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) will be open to the public on Saturdays.

The LTO said the new schedule will take effect on June 11 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“Apply na ng non-professional driver’s license dito sa LTO-PITX! Hindi lang renewal at new application, pati change classification at iba pa (Apply for a non-professional driver’s license here at LTO-PITX! Not only for renewals or new applications but also ‘change classification’ and other transactions),” the LTO said in a Facebook post Wednesday.

Supplementary services such as a driving school and a medical clinic are also open on Saturdays.

Appointments are not necessary before visiting the LTO at PITX.

“Sobrang komportable ng LTO experience niyo dito – maluwag, airconditioned, maraming kainan sa tabi, at may parking area pa kung saan din ginagawa ang driving exam (Your LTO experience will be very comfortable here – it’s spacious, airconditioned, with many food stores, and there’s a parking area where the driving exam is held),” it said.

Before one can be issued a driver’s license, they must be 17 years of age or older for Filipinos and 18 for foreign nationals, must be “physically and mentally fit” to operate a motor vehicle and must be able to read and write in Filipino and English.

Applicants must also be a holder of a valid student driver’s permit for at least one month from issuance, must have completed and passed the Practical Driving Course, must not have an unsettled traffic violation, and must have passed the Automated Theoretical Examination and Practical Driving Test.

The complete documentary requirements are available on the LTO PITX Facebook page and the LTO website. (PNA)
