TikTok star Bella Poarch, from a victim of child abuse to the biggest singer, releases a song that speaks her fantasy.

Poarch’s new song ‘Inferno’ is contrary to her past experience with sexual assault. “As a victim of sexual assault, this song and video mean a lot to me,” she commented on her music video.

“This is something I haven’t been ready to share with you just yet. It’s very hard for me to talk about. But I’m ready now,” the singer added.

With her personal experience, Poarch has dedicated this song to herself as she wishes as her experience went.

“It’s a fantasy I wish was true,” she said.

Beauty and internet star Bretman Rock, Poarch’s cousin, also appeared in the music video.

Who is Bella Poarch and what brought her to music?

Clearly, you don’t get to pick and choose what kind of person Bella Poarch would want to become. For someone who’s experienced child abuse at the hands of her foster father, it wasn’t easy for Bella to break away from his grip and be on her own desired path, but she did it.

In her interview with Ethan Klein in H3 Podcast, Fil-Am Tiktok sensation Bella Poarch was bold enough to speak about her life including her traumatic childhood.

She grew up in the Philippines for 14 years on a farm her foster parents bought before she moved to the U.S. She lived with her grandma in the slums before being adopted at the age of 3. You would think that moving away from a poor environment would change her life for the better, but Bella experienced otherwise.

As a child, Bella would wake up at 3-4 a.m. just to finish her chores before going to school. And these chores weren’t just sweeping the floor, washing the dishes kind of chores – it was cleaning up dog and goat feces, and cleaning up the cat house kind of chores. In the Philippines, schools, especially elementary, usually start at 6:30 a.m. She had to wake up so early and clean until no crumbs of feces were left, otherwise, her dad wouldn’t let her have breakfast and even slap her for not doing a good job.

One time, she even went to school with a swollen and bleeding hand, but her teacher could care less as people around her pretty much all have a “mind your own business and I’ll mind mine” kind of mindset.

Of her 3 older siblings, Bella and her older brother were the only ones who got treated poorly as her 2 older sisters always got the nice stuff, leaving her with the hand-overs. This was also the reason why she got bullied in school as her things are second-handed. She always thought it was unfair for her and her brother but she just shrugged it off as she cannot do anything about it at all.

What’s even worse is that the singer did not even realize that her father was just borderline abusive until she got to the States. She has always thought cleaning poop and all before going to school was just a normal thing for kids. And even though her foster mother wasn’t abusive in any way, she just stayed silent throughout the years. Bella said she wished that she could’ve done something about it but she didn’t.

Bella’s get-away moment happened when she was 17 and she joined the army with her brother. They joined the military after they moved to the U.S. for her father’s treatment as he needed medication at that time which wasn’t available in the Philippines.

Ironic to people’s perspective about the army, Bella thought it was her opportunity to taste the freedom that he’d never experienced at home. She shared how different she was from everybody in boot camp as almost every one of them was crying because they miss their families while she rejoiced at the fact that she was away from home. She even said sleeping in a room together with everybody in the army felt like a slumber party. In boot camp, aside from training for 6 days a week, she also joined their music team as she was a soprano in a choir in her earlier years.

Bella worked in the military for 4 years after her graduation in boot camp and as much of a tough work it is, she still had a great time and shared how carrying machine guns as big as she taught her so many things. She even had her first-ever relationship while working in the navy.

After a lot of moving – from her friend’s house to Maui, Hawaii and right before she moved to L.A., Bella downloaded Tiktok after having to watch several videos her friends would recommend to her, and little did she know that this app would change her life in a snap.

While Bella’s “M to the B” video wasn’t her first post to get viral, it was what got her into the limelight. The singer didn’t even think the video would still be relevant after it got a million views on the first day. She was surprised to see it blow up bigger and bigger the next few days.

As of writing, that Tiktok of hers remains the most liked Tiktok video of all time with more than 50 million likes.

Bella then got contacted by her current management who took her to Los Angeles. Her supposedly two weeks stay became months as she decided to stay as her management told her that they would help her pursue her dream of becoming an artist. Bella shared how she’d always say the same answer whenever she was asked about what she wanted to be in the future and that is to become an artist, if not, then a veterinarian.

Finally, after signing with Warner Records, Bella made her debut as a singer with her single “Build a B*tch” on May 14, 2021. It instantly became a hit as the music video for the song on YouTube garnered more than 71 million views (79 million with other legal uploads) in its first week making it the #1 debut on the Global YouTube Songs Chart.

Moreover, Bella’s debut song topped the Billboard charts in an instant debuting at No. 58 on the Billboard Hot 100 with about 13.1 million U.S. streams and 3,000 downloads in its first week until May 20.

As of writing, the music video for Build a B*tch has accumulated over 242 million views with about 9.3 million likes on YouTube.

There’s no denying how much of a fairytale Bella’s life has become. She also said how her brother would tell her that she’s like the modern version of Cinderella. However, Bella did not need a fairy godmother at all to achieve her dreams, talent and passion are what built her success.
