The Ministry of Health-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (MOH-BARMM) has commenced the distribution of PHP62 million worth of essential medical support, including ambulances and financial grants, to various health stations across the region, a move aimed at significantly enhancing healthcare accessibility for constituents, according to a top official on Friday.

“The turnover of these new medical support units to several regional health stations began earlier this week, and the distribution process is currently ongoing,” Dr. Kadil Sinolinding Jr., the minister of MOH-BARMM, said.

The aid includes the provision of one sea ambulance, 15 land ambulances, five cadaver transport vehicles, and crucial medical assistance grants allocated to numerous regional health facilities.

Several ambulances were funded through the Transitional Development Impact Fund (TDIF) and Supplemental Funds of members of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority.

The distribution was formalized through the signing of a memorandum of understanding between MOH-BARMM and representatives from the recipient hospitals and health stations.

Sinolinding commended the members of the regional parliament for their collaborative efforts with the MOH in securing the necessary funds and resources to bolster the region’s health sector.

“This collaborative endeavor is strategically designed to enhance both healthcare accessibility and the overall quality of services, ultimately leading to improved health outcomes for the local population,” he said. (PNA)
