The provincial government of Agusan del Sur has allocated PHP3.3 million to fund three community development projects in various villages across the province.

On Thursday, lawyer Lizette Kaye Estillore, a senior executive from the Office of the Governor, handed over a PHP1 million check to Barangay Poblacion in Sibagat town. The funding is designated for the installation of solar streetlights.

Another check, amounting to PHP300,000, was also given to local officials of Barangay El Rio, also in Sibagat town, for a similar solar streetlight project.

“The lighting of streets in barangays through solar power supports the province’s push for sustainable and safer communities,” the provincial government said in a statement.

Also on Thursday, a separate PHP2 million check was released to Veruela town’s Treasury Office to fund improvements for its Community Police Assistance Center.

The provincial government said these funding initiatives reflect ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure and public services at the grassroots level. (PNA)
