Maki has introduced a new hue with his latest single, “Kahel na Langit,” inspired by one’s “person” who provides comfort and solace.

“The feeling of yearning or longing for someone after realizing na ikaw lang ang nagbubuhat sa sarili mo tapos wala kang taong mapag-vent out. Bago ka matulog, maiisip mo na nami-miss mo yung taong napagsasabihan mo ng mga problema mo,” he said.

Maki composed and co-produced the track with Tati de Mesa, Jacob Clemente, and Shadiel Chan, and it was arranged by his mainstay band, the Zushibois, comprised of one of the producers himself, Tati, Jon Lopez, Sammy Icaranom, and Ian Moscare. He also co-directed its music video together with Ingrid Ignacio of Wonderlast, co-starring the Zushibois, which was launched at the Mall of Asia Amphitheater last Saturday (June 14) with a jam-packed crowd of his fans called Zushis.

“Kahel na Langit” and his other color-themed anthems “Dilaw,” “Namumula,” and “Bughaw” will be part of his highly anticipated album titled “KOLORCOASTER,” to be released this year.

Recently, Maki was also hailed as Asian Artist of the Year at the 2025 Music Rank Asian Choice Awards in Japan.

Upon its release, “Kahel na Langit” became the biggest streaming debut this year for an OPM song on Spotify Philippines with 206.5K streams. In 11 days, it has reached over 3 million streams and was featured in various editorial playlists, including Spotify’s New Music Friday Philippines and Hot Hits Philippines.

On YouTube, the music video has gained over 300,000 views as of writing, while its lyric video is currently at no. 10 on the platform’s trending list for music.

After the successful run of his “Maki-Concert” in Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, and Cebu, he is set to tour in the US with Silent Sanctuary and in Canada with James Reid this June and July.
