Broadcast giant GMA Network continues its winning streak this 2025 as it dominates the 38th Star Awards for Television, taking home major honors, including the Best TV Station award during the ceremony held on March 23.

Asia’s Multimedia Star Alden Richards, who was recognized as Male Star of the Night, accepted the Best TV Station award on behalf of the network.

Various public affairs and entertainment programs and personalities were once again recognized by the PMPC.

GMA Network’s flagship and acclaimed documentary program “I-Witness” was elevated to the Hall of Fame for winning 15 times in the Best Documentary Program category. I-Witness hosts Howie Severino, Atom Araullo, Mav Gonzales, and John Consulta, along with the I-Witness team, received the award. Together with Kara David, the I-Witness hosts were also honored as Best Documentary Program Hosts.

“Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho (KMJS), “the country’s most-watched TV show in 2024, retained its Best Magazine Show title.

“Unang Hirit” once again won the Best Morning Show award, while its hosts were Arnold Clavio, Susan Enriquez, Suzi Entrata-Abrera, Lyn Ching-Pascual, Ivan Mayrina, Mariz Umali, Matteo Guidicelli, Shaira Diaz, Kaloy Tingcungco, Anjo Pertierra, JR Royol, and Atty. Gaby Concepcion was named Best Morning Show Hosts anew.

The long-running public affairs show “Wish Ko Lang” took home the Best Public Service Program honor.

“The Atom Araullo Specials” was conferred with the Best Documentary Program award, while earning the recognition for Best Educational Program again was “Born to be Wild,” hosted by Doc Ferds Recio and Doc Nielsen Donato.

GMA Entertainment Group also received various recognitions for its outstanding programs and personalities.

Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes was recognized as Best Game Show Host for “Family Feud.” Dantes likewise took home the Best Educational Program Host for “Amazing Earth.” He was also awarded the Shining Male Star of the Night and Male Celebrity of the Night during the awarding ceremony.

Kapuso Drama King Dennis Trillo also won Best Drama Supporting Actor for his significant role as Col. Yuta Saitoh in “Pulang Araw,” tied with Arnold Reyes from the series “My Guardian Alien.”

“Pulang Araw” stars Barbie Forteza and David Licauco were recognized for their undeniable on-screen chemistry and massive influence on Philippine pop culture, winning this year’s German Moreno Power Tandem Award. Barbie was also named Female Face of the Night.

Asia’s Limitless Star Julie Anne San Jose and Kapuso Total Heartthrob Rayver Cruz were named Best Talent Search Program Host for “The Clash 2024.” Julie Anne was also awarded the Shining Female Star of the Night during the program.

King of Talk Boy Abunda, on the other hand, was recognized as the Best Celebrity Talk Show Host for “My Mother, My Story,” which also won Best Celebrity Talk Show. Moreover, “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” was awarded Best Showbiz-Oriented Talk Show.

The well-loved afternoon series “Abot-Kamay na Pangarap” was once again named Best Daytime Drama Series.

“Magpakailanman,” hosted by multi-awarded broadcast journalist Mel Tiangco, earned three awards this year, including the Best Drama Anthology title. Paolo Contis won the Best Single Performance by an Actor for the episode “A Son’s Karma (The Wilbert Tolentino Story), while Gladys Reyes took home the Best Single Performance by an Actress for “Inaanak, Inanakan.”

Top-rating family sitcom “Pepito Manaloto (Tuloy ang Kuwento)” earned the Best Comedy Show, while “Walang Matigas na Pulis sa Matinik na Misis” won as Best Mini Series.

“It’s Showtime” took home the Best Variety Show award, while Anne Curtis bagged the Best Female TV Host.

GMA’s blocktime program “Cayetano in Action with Boy Abunda” was awarded Best Public Affairs Program, while Alan Peter Cayetano, Pia Cayetano, and Boy Abunda were named Best Public Affairs Program Hosts.

Several shows on GTV were also recognized by the PMPC. Winning the Best Public Service Program Host was Edinel Calvario for “Healing Galing,” while “I Heart PH” took home the Best Lifestyle/ Travel Show award.

The Star Awards for TV also paid tribute to industry legend Gloria Romero, who received a posthumous honor as one of the icons of Philippine television, recognizing the late actress’ unparalleled contributions and lasting legacy. Romero was the host of the award-winning anthology series “Daig Kayo ng Lola Ko.”
