The Pag-IBIG Fund has disbursed over PHP142 billion in multipurpose and calamity loans across the Davao Region since July 2022 under President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s administration, an official reported Tuesday.

Speaking at the “Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas” forum, Pag-IBIG Fund Senior Vice President for Member Services Operations Marie Antoniette Diaz said the agency allocated PHP132.28 billion for multipurpose loans (MPL) and PHP10.39 billion for calamity loans over the period.

“In the Davao region, specifically, we have provided PHP6.79 billion for MPL and PHP274 million for calamity loans,” Diaz said, adding that Pag-IBIG also recorded PHP4.65 billion in regular savings and PHP2.80 billion in Modified Pag-IBIG II (MP2) savings from members in the region.

In support of the President’s housing initiative, Diaz highlighted that Pag-IBIG facilitated affordable homeownership for 26,764 low-income earners in Region 11, approving a total of PHP12 billion in housing loans.

The agency disbursed PHP10.85 billion for housing purchases or repairs benefiting 9,154 members, with an additional PHP389 million released under the socialized housing loan program, aiding 954 members. (PNA)
