At least 593 beneficiaries in two villages of Loreto town, Agusan del Sur received their cash-for-work payments in separate distribution activities conducted on Wednesday.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development in the Caraga Region (DSWD-13) facilitated the distribution of payments under its Risk Resiliency Program–Cash for Work (RRP-CFW).

“The beneficiaries completed their works and community services in their respective barangays which started in the middle of this month,” the DSWD-13 said in a statement Thursday.

Most of the beneficiaries rendered work at the upland sustainable agroforestry development projects in the two barangays.

Each worker was paid PHP3,500 based on the PHP350 daily wage for 10 days.

The DSWD-13 said a total of PHP2,075,500 cash payments were released to the beneficiaries during the distribution in the villages of San Vicente and San Mariano in Loreto town.

Officials from the two villages thanked the government for supporting their constituents, citing that the payments are enough to sustain the needs of the families of the beneficiaries, especially their children.

The DSWD’s RRP-CFW program aims to increase the resiliency of vulnerable communities in the country while strengthening the natural and urban built environment. (PNA)
