More than 700 residents of Taraka and Tamparan town in Lanao Del Sur received free medical services from the Office of Bangsamoro Member of Parliament Diamila Disimban-Ramos in partnership with the Ministry of Health (MOH) of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.

The two-day ‘Anogon Ko Pagtaw: Medical Outreach Program’ held earlier in March is in solidarity with the celebration of the 2023 National Women’s Month and aims to help and provide services to the Bangsamoro people, especially the vulnerable sectors who have limited access to medical services.

The medical outreach program in Barangay Calupaan Carandangan in Taraka and the Municipal Gymnasium in Tamparan, provided free medical consultations as well as medicines and vitamins, according to a news release from the Office of MP Disimban-Ramos on Wednesday.

That is why we launched this program that will improve the health condition of our citizens, especially those who are in dire need of it),” said Ramos, chairperson of the BTA Committee on Women, Youth, Children and Persons with Disabilities.

We at the Bangsamoro Transition Authority will continue to find ways to help those in need, especially our women and youth. Let us all come and work together to take care of our health and that of our fellow countrymen,” she added.

More than 80 other beneficiaries also received medical assistive equipment such as canes and wheelchairs during the outreach activity.

Jacquelin Alangadi, a resident of Taraka and one of the beneficiaries of the medical outreach program, expressed appreciation for the program.

(I came here because of my chest pain and shortness of breath, and, alhamdulillah, because of this program brought by MP Ramos, I had a free checkup and I even got my medicines for free. Thank you very much because it is a great help to me, especially now in the month of Ramadhan),” she added.

“Most of us go to the doctor rarely to get a checkup, so we are very grateful to Allah (SWT) because you came and provided free consultation and free medicine for our people in Tamparan. I hope you can provide more medical services because there are many people who need it),” said Ms. Hejarah Cariz, a recipient of the MOP from Tamparan.

Meanwhile, Dr. Pancho Cruz of the MOH-BARMM acknowledged the entire effort and cooperation of all the stakeholders for the success of the program.

“Every year, she (Disimban-Ramos) chooses to conduct the Medical Outreach Program to provide health services to the Bangsamoro.”

Taraka Mayor Amenodin Sumagayan and Tamparan Mayor Mohammad Juhar D. Disomimba extended their support and gratitude for the success of the MOP.

Tamparan town Senior Councilor Engr. Ameril Disomimba Ali thanked the BARMM and the office of Disimban-Ramos for their continued support of the municipality

It is a great help in developing the health of our countrymen because I believe that if our health improves, we will be more effective members of our community),” Ali said.
