Army Athletes Shine In Mt. Banahaw De Lucban Duathlon

The Philippine Army has captured seven medals, including three golds, in the 8th Mt. Banahaw De Lucban Duathlon in the town of Lucban, Quezon province last Sunday.

Private First Class Robinson Esteves ruled the overall men’s category while teammates Staff Sergeant Alvin Benosa and Corporal Cris Joven finished second and third, respectively.

Private Genesis Maraña also delivered the gold medal in overall women’s category.

Army’s third gold medal came from Staff Sergeant Reynaldo Navarro, who topped the men’s 45 to 54 years old category.

Meanwhile, Private Rick Joebert Balmes bagged the silver medal and Private Christian Dimaculangan pocketed the bronze medal in the men’s 25 to 34 years old category.

Army chief, Lt. Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr., commended the exemplary performances of the soldier-athletes in various sporting events.

He told them to focus on honing their skills and talents to sustain their winning momentum this year. (PNA)
