Ilocos Norte’s most anticipated cultural dance showdown is set to come back on Feb. 2 as one of the highlights of the 205th foundation anniversary of the province.

Popularly known as the “Tan-ok ni Ilokano (Greatness of the Ilocano) Festival of Festivals”, the event showcases the greatness of the Ilocanos through unique festival dances from the 21 municipalities and 2 cities of the province while gathering thousands of cultural performers and spectators at the Ferdinand E. Marcos sports stadium here.

“This is the biggest attempt yet to raise the bar in cultural performances in the province, boosting the Ilocano’s sense of pride, unity, and greatness,” said provincial tourism officer Ianree Raquel on Tuesday as he shared his excitement on the return of the mother of all festivals in the province since the start of the pandemic.

As of this posting, preparations are in full swing for the event.

Guests are invited to the grand cultural showdown to learn and experience the rich culture of the locals. The event also gives an opportunity for informal workers such as event organizers, production staff, make-up artists, and designers, among others, to earn extra income.

“We believe that by investing more in our people, we not only ensure a better quality of life for Ilokano families but also welcome greater opportunities for development,” said Ilocos Norte Governor Matthew Joseph Manotoc earlier. (PNA)
