Amid the decreasing number of recorded daily coronavirus diseases (Covid-19) in the region, the Department of Health in Bicol (DOH-5) continues to remind the public to always follow the health and safety protocols.
During the “Ulat sa Covid-19” of DOH-5 on Monday, Keen Nuyda of the Regional Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (RESU) said the number of new cases in the region has remained low during the last four weeks.
“Yung ating average daily cases ay umaabot lamang ng four to five cases per day ang nadi-detect natin and as of March 27 ay nag-zero case tayo (Our average daily detected cases [in the region] only reaches four to five cases per day, and as of March 27, we have zero cases),” he said.
Nuyda said the low number of daily recorded cases in Bicol shows that the actions being taken by both the government and the public against Covid-19 are effective, including the continued rollout of the vaccines.
However, he still reminded the public to always observe the minimum public health standards.
“Kaya naman po ngayong darating na Holy Week at summer season na, plus alam natin na mayroong mga political rallies, let us remember pa din po that Covid-19 is still around us, dapat tayo pa rin mismo as individuals ay nakikipaglaban at nagiging handa sa Covid-19 at all times (Therefore, this coming Holy Week, summer season and during political rallies, let us remember that Covid-19 is still around us and as individuals, we must always be prepared against Covid-19),” Nuyda said.
